6 th EXTINCTION MAP AND ENVIRONMENT
Look at the following photographs of the mural 3 º ESO Biology and Geology. It was to do a job schematic on "Causes and Consequences of the 6th Extinction":
also in English performed work on the environment, look at some pictures:
Look at the mural Aida made and the digital display for the subject of English:
1.ORGANIZACIÓN (departments, tutors or teachers responsible, contributing):
• David Rosa Novalbos. Professor of Biology and Geology, 3 º and 4 º ESO. GLOBE responsible.

3 º ESO 4 º ESO Total 48 students.
3.JUSTIFICACIÓN (how comes the need for this activity):
In subjects like biology and geology and English of 3 º and 4 º ESO addressed content related to the environment, including some environmental problems facing us humans from our own use activities and resource use natural.
has decided to conduct a joint activity involves an analysis of the causes and consequences, or chain of effects, which are contributing to state that we are in the so-called "6th extinction". In addition, students will develop a mural individual or couple schematically explaining the causes and consequences of the 6 th Extinction or environmental issues in general.
This process of rapid and massive extinction of species is related to Global Warming, by all the different environmental problems associated with it. GLOBE
This activity is being studied as a set of content whose correct learning will be of great importance in understanding the environmental content from the point of view of environmental education, related to the knowledge of our environment locally, regionally and globally, and the importance of their care, prevention and protection.
The analysis of the so named "Sustainable Development" will also be an important part of this activity and environmental education that we seek, since it will think and analyze many aspects that characterize our everyday lifestyle.
4.OBJETIVOS (those who want to achieve with this activity):
• Know and analyze the causes of the five great extinctions that are known in the "Geological History of the Earth."
• Recognize that we are in the "6th extinction" and is caused by environmental problems caused by humans.
• Investigate all environmental problems is associated with global warming.
• Distinguish between "causes" and "Consequences" as well as chains of cause and effect.
• Analyze the characteristics of sustainable development as part of the solution of these problems.
• Develop exposed wall or work so nice and pleasant contents, both in Castilian and English.
• Expose the murals in the Rincon EM-GLOBE Share this content.
• Discuss the activity and pictures of the murals in the EM-GLOBE Blog Share this content.
• Make presentations in English of this work.
5.CONTENIDOS (major content to work or strengthen):
• mass extinctions of species and their causes.
• The 6th Extinction.
• Environmental issues.
• Causes and consequences of the 6 th Extinction.
• Sustainable Development.
• English vocabulary and structures posing potential problems and solutions.
6.METODOLOGÍA (how to work the contents):
• View the videos: "The 6th Extinction" and "An Inconvenient Truth."
• Production of a mural of the "Causes and consequences of the 6th Extinction" or other works on environmental issues. • Debate-ending
on Sustainable Development and its importance.
classroom • Treatment of environmental issues and vocabulary in English.
• Treatment of English structures related to the topic. • It
written tests ask content related to the topic.
• Exhibition of murals in the Rincon EM-GLOBE.
• Exhibition of activities and photographs of the murals in the EM-GLOBE Blog.
7.Place OF REALIZATION (inside or outside the school):
• Hall of reference, in the subjects of Biology and Geology and English.
• Duty to house research and development of the mural.
• Main Hall ESO building, exhibition of murals in the Rincon EM-GLOBE. • Blog
EM-GLOBE, exposure of the activity and pictures of murals.
8.RECURSOS MATERIALS (those who need or would like to use):
• Photocopies of the relevant information of these environmental problems.
• Documentaries:
- "The 6th Extinction." Ed Very Interesting.
- "An Inconvenient Truth." Al Gore.
• Computer and projector for a presentation of the students.

• Start date: April 7.
• End Date: June 18.
• Total Activity Time: All the 3 rd Assessment.
10.PREVISIÓN TRANSPORT:
not need transportation. ECONOMIC 11.PRESUPUESTO
:
the cost generated by the sheets and photocopies employees. Cardboard must buy
students.
12.CUALQUIER OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION:
is a GLOBE activity by the high degree of environmental education that entails, so a proper treatment of information can have huge benefits.
The video of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" has not been time to put it to the students due to the priorities of implementation and follow the curricula of these courses, not because the video was not part of the programming, but because required two class sessions that were not available.
more elaborate murals will be hung in the corner EM-GLOBE, although all will be photographed to be hung on the EM-GLOBE Blog.

HERBAL
Look at the interim results which would be a sheet of a species from herbarium, in this case or Ababol Poppy (Papaver rhoeas) :
1.ORGANIZACIÓN (departments, tutors or teachers responsible collaborators):
• David Rosa Novalbos. GLOBE responsible. Professor of Natural Sciences.
• Jesus Luna Cepeda. GLOBE teacher. Professor of Religion, Bachelor in Biology and Geology. • M ª Carmen
Bango. Professor of Plastic and Visual Education.
2.DESTINATARIOS (courses and number of students):
All students of ESO (120 students). Everyone can contribute their work to the constant creation of the herbarium, from small learning how to use dichotomous keys, to the more "scientific" perfecting the use of these keys, even the most "manuals" such as students Diversification , etc.
Look practice 2 º ESO to determine the scientific name of the Poppy and learn to use a dichotomous key for plants, no less than the "Bonnie" :
See also the students of 4 º Diversification plasticizing pressed plant samples:
3.JUSTIFICACIÓN (how comes the need for this activity):
The Herbarium is a continuously growing resource that will enable the students get to know the plant species most representative of their environment, the ecosystem of Mediterranean forest and scrub.
data and samples should be achieved through the proper use, and with the utmost rigor and scientific precision, of different tools such as presses, dichotomous keys for plant commissioning.
The need to introduce in the GLOBE Data Server Protocol Vegetation Cover in our area of \u200b\u200bstudy requires the output to the immediate environment for training in knowledge and recognition of species through the collection of samples for processing and creation of the herbarium.
The interest of this resource not only for students training in the use of tools and expertise of the Science of Nature, but also has an educational interest in environmental education and knowledge of their environment will recognize its value, protect and respect it.
4.OBJETIVOS (those who want to achieve with this activity):
• Building a "herbarium" accurate data.
• Collect plant samples in a controlled manner.
• Properly treat the plant samples for proper conservación.
Remember the pictures:
5.CONTENIDOS (major content to work or strengthen):
• United Plant. Typical vegetation of the area.
• Data collection and samples to the Herbarium.

GLOBE is an activity that would be interesting as to reach make all students at the school in subsequent years. It is also a resource that, properly done, would remain forever at the center and could be used with all students of the Centre.
should also be applied to elementary and primary students of those contents and procedures adapted to the age classes and that teachers of these steps it deems appropriate and adequate.
The expansion of the herbarium with other plant species (not native, garden, etc..) Is another possibility after having collected representative samples of the most important of our forest and Mediterranean scrub.
